The compound is located in Batuan, halfway
between the capital Denpasar and Ubud, the cultural centre. Batuan is a small village with many
temples, and is centre of Legong dance, painting and woodcarving. From Batuan to Ubud or Denpasar is
aproximately 15 kms.The neighbouring village of Sukawati, with an early-morning food market
and big art market, is just 2 km away. It is 12 kms to the well-known beaches of Sanur.
You will find all the facilities you need in these towns to fulfil your dayly requirements. These range
from small warungs to big supermarkets, as well as restaurants offering both local and international
food. If you do not have transport you can get to these places by small local buses called bemos that
stop where requested. However, it is easier to rent a car or a bike. Both are available at very reasonable rates.
